These days as my startup grows and hires more and more people, I am starting to run into folks in the hallways that I don't recognize (we have probably about 70 people in the company).
And I am sure they have no idea of the founding history of this company, realize that I am one of the founders, or are aware that there are two other founders who are no longer with the company.
In many cases, the new hires had worked previously with our VP of Engineering who has only been with us for less than 6 months himself. I get the sense that many such new hires think our VP of Engineering "owns" this company. My concern is that slowly this company is losing touch with the original founding vision and the set of core values & "personality" that we once had.
These days as I walk the halls here, I get this strange feeling that I am an outsider inside the very company that I founded.
I wonder if other startup founders go through similar experiences.
