Everything that happens to us on earth is an opportunity to either show that we truly love and trust God or that we are lukewarm towards Him (or flat out reject Him).
This means that this life on earth is a filter that God uses to seek out those who truly love and trust Him. This means our responses to success, wealth, recognition, popularity, abundance, depression, drought, pain, hardship, and tragedies show God our own personal answers to the ultimate question:
"Do you love and trust me?"
Of course, this filter will also identify all those who were merely lukewarm towards God. And this filter will be used to determine how you and I spend eternity.
Once you internalize the above, it literally dictates everything you must do from this second on.
