Meekness.
The dictionary says it means the following:
Quiet. Gentle. Easily imposed on. Submissive.
It is no wonder today's society associates meekness as weakness. To say someone is meek is to call that person weak. A pushover. A doormat. Someone you can easily bully.
Nothing can be further from the truth.
If one traces back to the ancient Greek origin of the word, meekness actually means:
Controlled Strength.
I would argue that controlled strength is the ultimate form of strength. It takes a much higher level and enormous amount of inner strength to achieve. Not many people have that, and certainly Jesus was the best human manifestation of such rare character.
Meekness, in my mind, is strength above strength.
Quite the opposite of weakness, don't you think?
