Crossing the Chasm

One of the most popular technology marketing books ever written is Geoffrey Moore's Crossing the Chasm. Every self-respecting tech marketer / product manager has this book. The book offers suggestions on why technology companies fail to penetrate the mainstream market despite early success. A chasm exists that a good number of companies simply fail to navigate and arrive at the other side.

I have noticed a similar chasm effect in terms of applying Sunday morning teachings into real-world situations.

The Bible is full of wisdom and instructions for living a fulfilling life. But I believe there's a chasm that needs to be crossed between Sunday morning and Monday morning.

Especially when it's Monday morning in busy Silicon Valley where the name of the game is to win, win more, and then win some more.

How do you choose between the values taught on Sunday mornings and the commercial values of the startup world? How do you go about living out the wisdoms from Sunday in everyday situations?

There's a chasm indeed.
